| Joss Whedon |
[Sep. 29th, 2006|09:14 pm] |
I was walking in to Forbidden Planet (a gaming store in London) when who should be walking out, but Joss Whedon. So i shook him by the hand and told him what a great series firefly was. He said he was working on another sequel. I told him not to work with fox again, and he said it was the best advice he has ever had. then i shook by the hand again and he left. Cool huh? |

my girlfriend is the most beautiful ellen in the world evah, as she is making me dinner and makes me so happy. so yay!!!! in other news, i met nathan fillion!!! the con was cool. i learned that my fighting fantasy collection is worh alot of money (£300 the guy said). that, along with my main deck for magic (with multilands and birds of paradise) and talisman (with expansion sets) are 3 very valuable relics of my youth i refuse to give up. how lucky i am to a) have the taste to collect such things :) but b) not have to give them up - valuable toys that i can choose to keep.

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him. - Sun Tzu, the Art of War |

| My life |
[Nov. 9th, 2005|04:47 pm] |
My life is really really good. I have a wonderful girl who is just perfect for me and we are very much in love. i have seen her every day for the last 5 weeks and we have had 27 dates in that time I have just started running at work which means i look after my fellow workers. this is kind of a promotion. (no more money) gaming is really good with me building more l5r decks and having lots of fun. the only downside is me missing my friends but see mermaid again is wonderful. |

I Email my team leader yesterday Hope,
I had a few ideas for Bulldog staff things.
1) games. I have games I can bring along for an evening ect if people are interested. We would need: A room
2) Firefly. This is a really good tv series I own on DVD. We would need: a room with DVD player and screen/projector
3)network games. Would it be possible to play multiplayer computer games after work on these computers? With a 1Gb local connection they would flow really well. We would need: Access to the computers after hours and the instillation of the software. I know this last one is a big ask but it would be really cool and heaps of fun!!!
Thanks

| BigDamn Weekend!! |
[Oct. 10th, 2005|04:17 pm] |
The last weekend was absolutely fantastic. i finally saw Serenity (with tim tams dropped at my work by my girlfriend), had dinner with Mermaid and spent *a lot* of time with my girlfriend. right, in order, so my girlfriend doesn't see ( Serenity ) Dinner was fantastic - we went to a lovely pizza place and had really good food and great company. i am still wait to talk to Mermaid about the film as Ellen hasn't seen it yet.
and yet....
all of these things seems an age away. the time that i spend with Ellen eclipses it all. We did a number of things - we gamed on saturday day (which was most frustrating, one of the other players ruined a very balanced contest between and the guy that won by randomly picking me. i hate king makers.)we went to Sarah's 24th which was nice. Sar, I wore your cloak!!! It was very cool!; but the time that we spent together and the sharing of who we are still is making my head spin. it seems that the more time we spend together, the more we find how well we understand each other. it is a remarkable thing.
"To capture the enemy's entire army is better than to destroy it; to take intact a regiment, a company, or a squad is better than to destroy them. For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the supreme of excellence. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the supreme excellence." - Sun Tzu quotes |

| Serenity Premier |
[Oct. 6th, 2005|05:05 pm] |
While wondering around london looking for tickets for Serenity i wandered into a theater. Upon asking, i was informed that although they were doing the premier on wednesday none of the stars would be turning up. Wednesday being a game night i decided not to go a brought settlers to play. imagine then my dismay, when i picked up the morning paper, to see said premier advertised with "come see Joss Whedon and the stars". Upon emailing Ellen she said that the obvious thing to do was to go and to be late for gaming. And so we did. It was awesome. [like 8Qs :)} Summer Glau, Nathan Fillion, Chiwetel Ejiofor and best of all Joss Whedon were all there. After this my beautiful girlfriend (more later) noticed that the fences that were holding us back had Serenity posters/billboards on them. And that we should steal one. So, with the aid of some convenient Americans, we did. Here is the proof. Ellen's entry about the Premiere I felt like such a brown coat. the poster is now in my room.
BE AWARE THAT DESPITE BEING OUTSIDE THE PREMIER I HAVE NOT YET SEEN THE MOVIE AND THUS DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILT.
So now i am going out with Ellen. it has been a really intence week, with every time i meet up with her i have learned more and more how we like the same things, laugh at the same jokes, and really get each other. i am not seeing her tonight having seen her for 30 seconds at lunch. this is amazingly good and I feel 10 feet tall. and really tired (did i mention the 620am starts this week? and the not getting home till 1?)
Unhappy is the fate of one who tries to win his battles and succeed in his attacks without cultivating the spirit of enterprise; for the result is waste of time and general stagnation. Hence the saying: The enlightened ruler lays his plans well ahead; the good general cultivates his resources. - Sun Tzu |
